A couple of things that would be nice additions to Vault:

(1) When setting up an alert on a file, optionally be able to initiate an e-mail to the person who has it notifying them that someone is waiting on it.

(2) Ability to send out a reminder e-mail on items that have been checked out for a pre-specified amount of time or longer. We have a lot of times where people forget they have something checked out.

(3) Ability to flag an item that you are waiting for and have the GUI display some kind of icon that means "Checked out and someone else is waiting on a checkin"

I'll put in a request on those. Thanks for the feedback.

For item # 2, you may want to have your users check out the search feature in a tab at the bottom of the Vault GUI client. In there, one can search on $ for all files checked out by whichever user. They can occasionally run a search on their own name. Your suggestion is still a good idea, but in the meantime, this might be a way of trying to manage that.

Thanks for the advice. For right now I just have the scrum master checking it once in a while for old check-outs and reminding people.


BTW: On the search results, I have been cutting/pasting them into an e-mail as a sort of poor-man's report, but have noticed that when you re-order the columns it still copies to the clipboard in the original order.
