CryptoAPI cryptographic service provider (CSP) for this...

Post by Mike Hildner » Mon Jun 16, 2008 8:49 am

Greetings,

I'm migrating to a new dev machine. When I try to connect using Vault Client, I get this error:

CryptoAPI cryptographic service provider (CSP) for this implementation could not be acquired.

I searched, and the fix talks about settings on the Vault server. However, my other dev machine works fine, so it makes me think it has something to do with my new machine, or that install.

In addition, trying to connect via Visual Studio 2005, I get an error - "The system cannot find the file specified". Again, my old machine works fine.

Any thoughts? Using 3.5.1.

Thanks,
Mike

Try giving all users full control of this directory on the Client machine:
\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Microsoft\Crypto\RSA\MachineKeys

For the File could not be found error, turn on Client-side logging:
