Problem in refeshing project while integrating with VS2005

Post by littlemaster.arun » Wed Apr 30, 2008 6:47 am

Hi,

I am integrated SourceOffSite4.2 with VS 2005. While doing checkout file from VS its not refreshing in SourceOffSite client. After manually refreshing the file only it's showing file checkout. But while doing checkin it's automatically updated in SourceOffSite client. Any option we have to change?

In SOS Tools - Options - View, you could set an auto-refresh. I wasn't able to reproduce that behavior. I think in my test, I had all the settings at default.

After checking out, how long do you wait to see if it shows the check out?

If the particular project is selected in SOS Client then it's automatically refreshing. Otherwise until clicking (RefreshFileList) button the file status not updating.

And you mentioned the option auto-refresh. But its asking input in minutes for refresh interval. I need to refresh say in seconds. It should reflect at the time of checkin or checkout. Minutes interval is too long..

Any idea?

i added Word document with screenshot and steps for your reference.

It appears that an auto-refresh gets triggered by a version change. A check out is not a version change. Currently, SOS is designed to not perform a refresh upon every action since that means increased network traffic usually. I can, however, put in a feature request for some change to be make so that you can opt for faster updates if you would like.
