"Access Failure"

Post by zumafan » Tue Jan 04, 2005 5:53 pm

Sometimes when checking out a group of files in VS2K3, VS works for a bit and then a small dialog box comes up that says: "Access Failure". and that's it.

Some of the files are then checked out, and others are not, but there is no follow-up on this error at all, it just stops the check out procedure !?

It might be that the IDE is trying to overwrite a file that is open and locked. Check the output pane in VS to see whether this is the case, or see http://support.sourcegear.com/viewtopic.php?t=249 for a discussion of a similiar problem.

There is nothing in the VS output pane.

It's not similar to the other issue you mentioned, plus the message that appears is "Access Failure", not "Access Denied".

Are you on Vault 3.0? If so, send me your email, so I can get you a special build with extra logging in it.
