Upgrading to Vault 3.0.1 from 3.0.0

When I run the VaultClient_3_0_1.msi setup program to upgrade from my 3.0.0 version, the setup program gets stuck in an infinite loop trying to remove files toward the end of the installation.

Try uninstalling 3.0, keep your database, then install 3.0.1.

We can take a look at the vault_install.log file in your user's temp directory to see what's going on. Email it to linda at SourceGear.com, before you reinstall, as the new log will overwrite the old.

The uninstall of Vault Client 3.0.0 does not work. The uninstall dialog comes up but when it is completed, the Vault Client 3.0.0 program is still listed in my Add/Remove Programs dialog. The vault_install.log you mention seems only to be created for VaultServer type installations (there is no database involved).

I found a way to uninstall Vault Client 3.0. If you select the "Change" button in the Add/Remove Programs dialog instead of the "Remove" button, then a dialog prompts you to "Repair" or "Remove". When you select "Remove", the application gets removed properly. Its almost like the "Remove" button from the Add/Remove Programs dialog is choosing the "Repair" option instead. When I uninstalled Vault Client 3.0.0, then I was able to successfully install the Vault Client 3.0.1 without problems. So there is a problem trying to install Vault Client 3.0.1 when 3.0.0 is already present....

Anyway, I'm up and running with Vault Server and Client 3.0.1 and all is well....
