New diff tool (3 way merge)

The new diff tool (Vault 3.0) is strange to me. Its great to have a view of two files plus a third view showing the merged result. The problem is the merged result doesn't seem correct at all. It seems whenever two files have identical sections, they are highlighted in yellow and thrown out in the merged result altogether. What use is this?

Can you provide an example - perhaps post 3 files with the issue in it so we can see what is happening? A screenshot might be useful as well.
