Check In/Out no longer setting Read-only

This is only happening with one of my projects. My other 10+ projects are working fine.

When I right click on a source file and select Check-Out..., the file is checked out, but the property of that file is still Read-only - I have to manually uncheck Read-only.

Likewise, when I check the file back in, the Read-only property of the file is still unselected - I have to manually check it.

A related problem, maybe, is when I edit a checked-out file in VS 2017 and then save it, the Pending Change Set has the file listed but the Type is Unmodified instead of Modified. Is this related?

Please close this. I figured out what was happening, and it was operator error. Sorry if I inconvenience anyone.
