Installing Vault Server 10.2 64-bit on Server 2022 fails
Attempting first installation of Vault Standard Server (VaultServer64_10_2_0_1222.msi) on a new Windows Server 2022 system with IIS version 10. I immediately get this message and cannot continue at all...
"SourceGear Vault Standard server 64-bit cannot be installed on systems with Internet Information Services version lower than 5.1"
"SourceGear Vault Standard server 64-bit cannot be installed on systems with Internet Information Services version lower than 5.1"
Re: Installing Vault Server 10.2 64-bit on Server 2022 fails
Please disregard...it appears I was supplied a new server *without* IIS activated. Now that it's on, installation is proceeding.

Re: Installing Vault Server 10.2 64-bit on Server 2022 fails
I've completed the Vault Server installation...shows install was successful, including a successful upgrade of a database....and then says a web browser will be launched to log in and supply license key info. No browser is launched, and there is no shortcut created on the desktop for Vault Server login.
Machine process model selected, and SQL Server authentication with correct SA password provided (sgvaultuser was created and supplied password works).
Did I miss a step? Why was I not given the chance to enter a license key?

Hello,
I'm not quite sure why the admin web login didn't appear. Could possibly be because you were upgrading from one version 10.x to another version 10.x and an updated license key was not needed.
You can access the Vault Admin Tool using the link below:
http://VaultServerName/VaultService/VaultWeb/Login.aspx
Replace VaultServerName with the name of your Vault Server. Or you can access it on the Vault Server machine by using localhost instead of the server name. It is also available from using the Windows icon - SourceGear Vault Professional - Admin Web Client.

Re: Installing Vault Server 10.2 64-bit on Server 2022 fails
While we already have a running instance of Vault Server 8 on one machine (a VM running Server 2012R2) with SQL Server 2014...I am basically starting over with installing this Vault Server 10.2 on a new Windows Server 2022 VM and a restored database (backed up from the old machine) into SQL Server 2022 located on the same new machine.....so we are not upgrading from an older 10.x version at all.
Executing http://localhost/vaultservice/vaultweb/login.aspx on the new machine returns HTTP Error 500.19 - Internal Server Error (The requested page cannot be accessed because the related configuration data for the page is invalid). Detailed information shows a problem with reading C:\inetpub\wwwroot\VaultService\web.config
Config Error: This configuration section cannot be used at this path. This happens when the section is locked at a parent level. Locking is either by default (override ModeDefault="Deny"), or set explicitly by a location tag with overrideMode = "Deny" or the legacy allowOverride="false"
Does any of that help identify what might be going on? Something I need to address with IIS ? Web.config file is attached...I had to change the filename and extension because this interface would not allow me to attach a web.config file.

Re: Installing Vault Server 10.2 64-bit on Server 2022 fails
Hello,
This is likely an IIS related issue. When you setup / configured the IIS server for the Vault Server, did you add the "Application Server" feature as well as the HTTP static content to the role?
Below are the roles that need to be checked:
Web Server (IIS) \ Web Server \ Common HTTP Features \ Static Content ( checked) Web Server (IIS) \ Web Server \ Application Development \ ASP.NET 4.6 (checked or whatever version you have installed)
Please let me know if this doesn't resolve the problem.
Thanks,
Tonya

Re: Installing Vault Server 10.2 64-bit on Server 2022 fails
Adding these roles appears to have solved the problem. I was able to log in, enter the new license key, and add a desktop shortcut. Also, the client app is now installed and works as expected.
Thanks!
Thanks!
