Internationalization problem during server Setup

Post by Arnaud » Tue Nov 23, 2004 10:58 am

There seems to be a problem during Vault server (version 2.0.6) setup when used on a non-english Windows 2003:
If your IIS is configured by default, the default app pool run under the "NETWORK SERVICE" account. Therefore, you choose this account in Vault setup "IIS Process model" dialog box, and when updating the database, the setup try to add "NT AUTHORITY\NETWORK SERVICE" to the authorized SQL server users. The problem is that this account is localized (silly, I know, but here it is...)!
For example, on my French Windows 2003, this account is called "AUTORITE NT\SERVICE RÉSEAU". The setup then give up with an error because it can add the non existent "NT AUTHORITY\NETWORK SERVICE" account to SQL server. I suspect the problem could also bite you later in the setup process, when you adjust the security of the various folders.

Thanks for the report.

I have logged this as a bug. Unfortunately a fix for this will not make it into the upcoming release, but we will look into fixing this for a future release.

Were you able to get Vault installed by choosing a different IIS Process user (system or custom)?
