Hello,
We have a text file attached to a work item. Via the desktop client, when I go to view the file, it is shelled out to Notepad and shows me the text inside the file.
When another user, also via the desktop client, goes to view the file, it is shelled out to Notepad and looks like this:
<!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.0 Transitional//EN" >
<HTML>
<HEAD>
<title>Vault File Download</title>
<!-- @Import namespace="value" -->
<!-- @Assembly Name="assemblyname" -->
<meta content="False" name="vs_showGrid">
<meta content="Microsoft Visual Studio 7.0" name="GENERATOR">
<meta content="C#" name="CODE_LANGUAGE">
<meta content="JavaScript" name="vs_defaultClientScript">
<meta content="http://schemas.microsoft.com/intellisense/ie3-2nav3-0" name="vs_targetSchema">
</HEAD>
<body style="FONT: 8pt verdana">
Automatic download of file(s) from the server.
</body>
</HTML>
Is this something you've seen before? I'm thinking there must be a setting somewhere... ? Thanks!
Tara

Re: viewing txt attachments of a work item
I've only seen this when the document is not actually created in notepad, such as a notepad document. When created in Wordpad, there is additional information that would show up in Notepad. I suspect it would be the same with Notepad++.
