error connecting to server

Post by srowedder » Wed Oct 27, 2004 9:58 am

I have both 3.5 and 4.0.2 on my server and I get this in my log file when starting the service. This has been running fine for a month or so until today.
10/27/2004 9:34:12 AM - denfs3 is attempting to listen for connections on secure port 8890
10/27/2004 9:34:12 AM - denfs3 is attempting to listen for connections on unsecure port 8888

10/27/2004 9:34:12 AM - Failed to start listening on port 8888 - Only one usage of each socket address (protocol/network address/port)
is normally permitted
10/27/2004 9:34:12 AM - Failed to start listening on port 8890 - Only one usage of each socket address (protocol/network address/port)
is normally permitted
Thanks
Scott

You can run SOS 4.0 and 3.5.3 Servers on the same machine, but they need to
use different ports. Ports are configured in the SOS Server Manager for
each of the servers. It looks like your ports are tied up.

Default ports for SOS 3.5.3 are 8888 (unsecure) and 8890 (secure).
Default ports for SOS 4.0.6 are 8080 (unsecure) and 8081 (secure).
