Hanging Vault GUI client

Post by Thomas Linder Puls » Mon Nov 21, 2016 4:56 pm

If you close the GUI client (on the "red cross") while it is "Connecting to sever ..." then it hangs, and have to be "killed".

Which operating system are you using? I will want to check this out.

When you mean red x, do you mean the abort button? Or are you trying to close the entire window?

Windows 10.

By "red cross" I mean "red x"/I am trying to close the entire window.

The only red thing I see is the Abort button. With that I can cause a hang, and have logged that for the developers. If I click the 'x' for closing the window, I don't get the same results. It just closes.

Is it possible you're really clicking the abort button? Or can you send a screenshot?

I am trying to close the window.

I never use the abort operation (my experience with it is that it is as slow as the operation to finish).

Do you click the 'x' before or after choosing a repository?

I have a default profile and with a default repository so everything is selected.

I have just tried it several times but only experienced the failure once, so perhaps it is a timing issue or perhaps it is actually worse when it is "some time ago since you connected last" (i.e. perhaps it is during some synchronization).

My guess is that it is the same problem you experienced when using the abort operation.

I have experienced this numerous times, because I work with many repositories and two screens so I often open a GUI client and immediately realize that I already have a suitable one open already and then close the one I have just opened, just to realize that it doesn't close but hang.

I have just reproduced it when changing repository rather than connecting, this time the GUI Client was in the "Working" state.
