Vault Standard 8.0.1 in-place edit check out hangs VS 2015

We've recently started running into an issue using Visual Studio 2015 with the enhanced client and Vault Standard 8.0.1. When editing a checked in file, as the file is being checked out Visual Studio will intermittently hang and the process will need to be killed through Task Manager. It's happening frequently to all users on my team, but not every time. This had been working without issue up until a couple of days ago. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Are you using the Vault Classic Client or the Vault Enhanced Client?

What type of solution is involved?

Do users each have their own working folder on their own machines, or is there a central location that is used instead?

I believe everyone is using the enhanced client. Projects are typical Visual Studio C# with Wix setup projects. Working folders are local.
