Hi,
Does anyone have any suggestions for best practice when using Vault for source control on a website? I've only used it for our product's source code, and I want to avoid the _sgbak folders that I see scattered around my local copy of the source code.
Thanks,
John

In the Vault Tools - Options - Local Files - Backup Location, you can change where those _sgbak folders are kept so that they aren't seen in the working folders.

Re: Using Vault for source control on a website
Hi Beth,
It looks like the Vault option that you referred me to will apply not only to all repositories, but to all Vault users on a given machine! I was hoping to have the repository properties define where backup files should go. Is that not possible?
Thanks,
John

That setting is saved in the HKEY_CURRENT_USER registry area, so it should change if a different user logs into the Windows machine. If multiple people are using the same Windows logon on the machine, but different Vault logons, then the backup location would be the same for all Vault users when the login to that machine.
