Attempting to compare two labels

I am creating labels for each deployment our team makes to production such as "Release 1.0", "Release 1.1", etc.. How can I show the differences between each label?

When I "Show Labels..." select one, then select Diff, the option to compare the label's contents to "a label applied to this folder/file" is greyed out.

In the screen shot attached, I created a label "Release 1.0", changed one item and checked it in, then created a second label "Release 1.1"

To compare two labels that were applied on the same folder, select both the labels, then right-click and select Diff.
