sgnotify database very large

I have found posts along this line from a few years ago; but none with a resolution!

My sgnotify database is very large in comparrison to the other sg databases (notify is 10gb vault is 1.7gb). The eventdetails table is the problem as it is 9.9gb on its own!

What can I do to reduce the size of this table? We have 14 users and I think only one or two use the notify feature.

EDIT: I forgot to mention; I was running 6.x but noticed this during my 7.2 upgrade which I have just done!
