Trying to get trial version up and running

Post by decouxb » Fri Oct 15, 2004 4:17 pm

I've installed the trial version of sourcegear and am able to access the asmx page.

I have one main problem:

When I try to log into the vault admin tool I get invalid username or password.

Well, I'm using sgvaultuser as username and I've retyped the password for this account in enterprise manager a couple times. I've also been able to log on to SQL Query Analyzer using this information, so I know the password and user are correct.

Any help please? Trying to evaluate the product to see if it is a direction we want to move. Currently using VSS 6.

On a side note:

I was trying to install the admin tool from the vaultservice page and keep getting the following error:

"The system administrator has set policies to prevent this installation"

I've checked everything I could regarding policies. Machine is what I chose during installation (which is also what IIS is set for)

This isn't as big of a deal as figuring out why I can't log in.

Thanks for any information

Try using the account name "admin".

sgvaultuser is an internal SQL Server based account, which is only used if you install Vault connecting using SQL Server authentication.
