Vault Standard 5.1.2 Eclipse Plugin Install

Post by Rob » Wed May 07, 2014 11:39 am

I cannot get the Eclipse plugin for Vault Standard 5.1.2 to install. What am I doing wrong? I followed the instructions at the bottom of https://sourcegear.com/vault/download-plugin.html

I can download the zip file, but I get the error 'Invalid or corrupt jarfile C:\Users\....\com.sourcegear.vault_5.1.2.19281.jar when I use the http://download-us.sourcegear.com/Vault/5.1/update/ recommended method.

I looked thru the zip files, I do not see \com.sourcegear.vault_5.1.2.19281.jar, but I DO see com.sourcegear.vault.core_5.1.2.19281.jar, com.sourcegear.vault.ui_5.1.2.19281.jar, and com.sourcegear.vault.team_5.1.2.19281.jar.

What am I doing wrong?

You can go to the Eclipse "Install New Software" page and use the ULR http://download-us.sourcegear.com/Vault/5.1/update/ to get Vault to install. Try that and let me know your results.

What version of Eclipse do you have and what OS is this on?

In addition, to what I suggested, you don't need to download the .zip file if you use the URL instead.

Using the download, you can just copy the contents of the features folder into the Eclipse features folder and copy the plugins folder right into the plugins folder.

If you're using some other method for install, what are the exact steps you are taking?

Beth, thank you for your reply.

As I said in my original post, I used your suggested URL, http://download-us.sourcegear.com/Vault/5.1/update/ and got the error 'Invalid or corrupt jarfile C:\Users\....\com.sourcegear.vault_5.1.2.19281.jar'.

This is on a Windows 7 Pro machine, I forgot to mention that in my original post.

You say: 'Using the download, you can just copy the contents of the features folder into the Eclipse features folder and copy the plugins folder right into the plugins folder.'

Where is the eclipse features folder and the eclipse plugins folder that I can copy what I downloaded into? Is it in C:/Program Files/SourceGear/?

The place where you would copy the files from the Vault Eclipse plugin zip file is in the same folder as your Eclipse program. The files that are inside the features folder will get placed into the Eclipse features folder and the files from inside the plugins folder will get placed into the Eclipse plugins folder. The files outside of those two folders get placed alongside the Eclipse exe.

I ran an additional test against the URL I suggested you try and didn't get any errors. I'm using Kepler.

If you continue having problems, then send an email to support at sourcegear.com (attn: Beth) with a link to this forum thread and I can take a closer look.

Not sure what you mean by the 'Eclipse Program'...

Did a search on C:\Program Files\.... I see some Eclipse files in C:\Program Files\Rocket Software\LageSuite Workbench\features\ and C:\Program Files\Rocket Software\LageSuite Workbench\plugins\

Eclipse should have a folder with an executable file in it. It is where you placed it after downloading Eclipse.
