Upgrading Vault Pro 6 to 7 on Windows Server 2003

Post by owainajones » Wed Nov 13, 2013 10:58 am

Hi, I downloaded the 32-bit Vault 7 .msi file (VaultProServer_7_0_0_30548.msi) and when I try to install it on our existing server following the upgrade instructions I get the error in the attached screenshot.

The server is Windows Server 2003 Standard Edition (32-bit).

The error is pretty clear about the issue, but it does not state this in the supported environments.

Thanks,

Owain

Vault 7 requires the .NET Framework 4.5, but Microsoft doesn't support the .NET Framework 4.5 on Windows 2003 server.

We thought we'd indicated in our documentation what OS's are supported.

We may have missed something.

Could you send us the links or tell us where you saw verbiage that indicated Vault 7 can be installed on Windows 2003?

We certainly want to make this more clear to our users.

My mistake, on the Vault 7.0 System Requirements page http://sourcegear.com/vault/documentation/sysreq.html, it includes Server 2003 for the client installation, but not the server installation.

Thanks for letting us know, though I can understand the confusion.
