Trouble installing to new server

Hello,

I'm having trouble installing SosServerProfessional_5_0_3 to a new server or replacement server of ours.

I am a full administrator on the server but the installation keeps erroring out with:

Product: SourceOffSite 5 Server -- Error 1923. Service 'SourceOffSite 5 Server' (SosSvrSvc5) could not be installed. Verify that you have sufficient privileges to install system services.

The server is Windows 2008 R2.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hello,

I have an update I was able to finally get "SosServerProfessional_5_0_3" installed on the new server.

However now I cannot get the SOS service to start. I receive the following 2 errors in the event logs:

Event ID: 7009 "A timeout was reached (30000 milliseconds) while waiting for the SourceOffSite 5 Server service to connect."

Event ID: 7000 "The SourceOffSite 5 Server service failed to start due to the following error:
The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion."

Again any help would be appreciated.

Open your SOS Server Manager and add a VSS database. Then try to start the SOS service again.
