Source Off Site Client does not connect to the SOS server

Post by Jagan Malkareddy » Thu Oct 07, 2004 9:27 am

When I try connecting with SOS client I see the following messages in status windows :
--------------------------------------------------
Connecting to 66.215.215.25:8081
Server sending 128 bit challenger

(then it prompts for username/password, which i enter correctly)

Using 128 bit encryption to commuincate with server.
Logging in...
--------------------------------------------------------------

After this it hangs (screen remains with the above display) and waits for ever.

I checked the Log file and found the following error :

10/7/2004 9:21:33 AM - Connection accepted from 66.215.215.8:63804 on local address 172.16.254.11:8081, session id is 16.

10/7/2004 9:21:37 AM - 16: Unable to get hostname from address: 66.215.172.8
------------------------------------------------------

When I restart the service things seem to be fine, but the next day i again need to restart it.

We recently purchased the SOS software. We have 1 user license, 5 user license, 5 user licenses ( total : 11 licenses). I would really appreciate if could you help us.

NOTE : The IP addresses you see in this email are not our actual IP addresses.

If restarting the SOS Service allows you to connect again, you may be experiencing a concurrency crash caused by a bug in the SourceSafe API.
