After upgrading to Vault Standard 6.1 I noticed that when I click on a file to check out, the checkout button is disabled most of the time. I have to right-click on the file to check it out? Is this by design and if so, why?

Re: Toolbar doesn't enable
I was able to reproduce this. If you click on the folder first, and then the file, the checkout on the toolbar is enabled. Is that what you're seeing?
This looks like a bug. I've logged bug 16746 and we hope to fix it in a future release. Thanks for the report!

It doesn't enable the toolbar if I click on the folder first.

Thanks for the update.
This bug seems to be very inconsistent. In fact, when I was logged in as one user, I couldn't reproduce the problem. But logged into the same repository as Admin, the toolbar icons didn't enable as expected.

Until this is fixed, you could set your options to check out the file on double-click. This setting is in the Vault Client under Tools->Options->Double click on file->Edit. This will also open the file, so will be useful in certain cases.
