Could not detect the file type in the supplied stream

Post by ajj3085 » Sun Jan 20, 2013 12:28 pm

I'm having this same problem as this thread (http://support.sourcegear.com/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=17410), but on my build server, and only for one of my projects, the other one builds fine:
The working folder state information for d:\BuildServer\proj1\trunk\build\ is incompatible with this version of Vault. Please choose a different working folder path. The specific compatibility exception was: Could not detect the file type in the supplied stream.

I think I've deleted the client side cache (however I'm ONLY using the Vault libraries and NAnt tasks, I don't have the Vault Client installed on the server) as I deleted a c:\users\builder\local\sourcegear folder (builder is the user the CCService runs as).

I'm using Vault 6.1.0.30531 Pro.

Here are some other places to check for a cache.
C:\Windows\System32\config\systemprofile\AppData\Local\SourceGear
C:\Users\Default\AppData\Local\SourceGear
C:\Documents and Settings\Default User\Local Settings\Application Data\Sourcegear C:\Windows\ServiceProfiles\LocalService\AppData\Local\SourceGear

Can you find a cache in any of those locations?

I'll check this weekend. The server is Win2k8, if that matters.

Hi Beth. Unfortunately none of those other locations had a folder named Sourcegear in them. Any other ideas?

If you can, run a search on your machine for Vault_1. Make sure you search hidden folders.

If you can't find any other cache, create a brand new working folder, and then let me know your results.

I did try deleting the working folder complexly already, and I still have the problem. Are there any other locations this might end up? I assume its not caching in a random spot.

Is there a command line command to delete the WF cache?

Open up your registry and go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\SourceGear\VaultPro\Client\Settings. What does it say there for a cache location?

It says: C:\Windows\Temp\SGVaultIndex\cache

I'll try deleting the VaultPro_1 folder there.

Ok, I deleted everything in the cache folder (even the other folders not named vaultpro_1) and it seems to be working again.

Thanks!
