GUI Client unable to connect to VaultService

GUI Client unable to connect to VaultService

I am a newbie to SourceGear Vault and have just installed the 10 user eval version of Vault Pro 6.0.1
The install had a few issues, but I am confident that the server side is now in place.
Installed the client on my workstation (Win7) seemingly without issue.

When I launch the GUI client on my workstation, it opens and asks me for logon credentials and a server.
Then I get an error dialog:
An error has occurred. The error message is:

Unable to connect to http://spuappwebdvl.spu.cos.local/VaultService. No server was found at the specified URL. Please verify your network settings using the Options dialog under the Tools menu in the Vault GUI Client. Web Exception: The request failed with the error message:

Per the error, the Web Service is attempting to redirect to the login screen: VaultService/VaultWeb/Login.aspx
This obviously should not happen when I'm using the GUI client and supplying the credentials up front.

Please advise ASAP. Need to get this cleared up before my eval period times out.

Check to make sure Anonymous Access is enabled for the Vault services in IIS. In IIS 7.x, you can access this setting by clicking on VaultService in IIS Manager, and double-clicking Authentication for the authentication settings. Check authentication for the other Vault services as well.

this issue is now cleared up.
We have purchased the full-on Vault Professional, and are running with it.
Currently migrating very large amounts of source code from Visual SourceSafe.
