How can I move from my current Fortress 1.0.5 installation to Vault Standard? I tried installing Vault Standard Server 1.0.6. I uninstalled Fortress first. During installation I got the message "Can't install Vault if a Vault Professional database exists."
Thanks
Tom

Re: Fortress 1.0.5 to Vault Standard
It is possible to go to Vault Standard from Fortress.
First, contact our Sales department, (sgstore at sourcegear.com) to convert your Fortress licenses to Vault Standard licenses. Do you want to upgrade to the latest release of Vault, which is Vault 6.0.1? If so, make sure you have Vault Standard 6.0 licenses.
Fortress licenses will not work in Vault Standard.
Next, back up your databases, sgvault, sgmaster and (just in case you decide to keep it) sgdragnet. Then delete/drop the sgdragnet database from SQL Server. That is what is preventing the Vault Standard installation.
Note: Fortress 1.0.5 is the equivalent of Vault 4.0.5, so you don't want to install Vault 1.0.6 (very old version).
We recommend upgrading in stages. The next steps to upgrade would to install Vault 4.0.6, then 5.0.4, 5.1.2, then 6.0. You can get previous versions here:

Also, consult our compatibility chart to make sure your OS/SQL version is compatible with the newer versions:

Re: Fortress 1.0.5 to Vault Standard
Thanks Linda. That got it done. It wasn't all roses. Had some trouble with the installs and had to uninstall and re-install a few times. Cleaning out Fortress seemed to be the problem. Now all I need to do is get my status squared around. I have a project that was not checked in before I did this.

Thanks for the update. Sounds like you had to go through a number of steps.
