I have a user getting some errors, unfortunatley no one is familiar enough with these applications to come up with a resolution. I"m hesitant to start uninstalling/reinstalling stuff unless I check with support here first.

Re: Vault-related errors in VS Studio 2008 Pro
Can you give us a little background on this?
Was Vault Visual Studio integration with this project working fine before? If so, what has changed?
Was this project previously used with a different version of Visual Studio, Vault or different version control tool, like VSS?
Do other users have a problem with opening this project using Vault and Visual Studio?
To see what products are installed in Visual Studio, look under Help->About Microsoft Visual Studio.

This error indicates Visual Studio does not have an application for the project type. For instance if you only installed the VB component of Visual Studio and tried to open a C# project, you might get this error. The application for the project is not installed.

Re: Vault-related errors in VS Studio 2008 Pro
We had uninstalled Vault standard client, then installed Pro Client. After that I believe it generated these errors. Not sure if that's 100% what happened though, I do not know.lbauer wrote:Can you give us a little background on this?

Should we just uninstall Visual Studio 2008 and Vault, reboot, then reinstall both applications again?
It's SourceGear Vault Professional Client 5.1.2.19283. So I guess I'm on the wrong thread.
Re: Vault-related errors in VS Studio 2008 Pro
I think a fresh start would be good.
Uninstall any Vault Clients, then uninstall Visual Studio.
Then reinstall Visual Studio. Be sure to install all the Visual Studio packages/apps that you need for your Visual Studio project types.
Finally, install Vault Pro Client, if that's the version you want to use.
Let me know if this does not resolve the problem.

Re: Vault-related errors in VS Studio 2008 Pro
The issue is now fixed. I also use the File > Vault Pro Source Control > Open From Vault Professional option to make it easier for thee end user to open.lbauer wrote:I think a fresh start would be good.

1. Uninstalled VS 2008 Pro and Vault Pro
2. Cleaned registry with CCleaner
3. Rebooted
4. Reinstalled VS 2008 Pro (with "Full" option)
5. Reinstalled Vault Pro client.
Only problem I had during the steps above was that the SP1 update I tried to install for VS2008 was hanging around 95% for about 20 mins, just wasn't finishing and nothing else was open. So I forced it to quit and proceeded to install Vault, but that didn't appear to cause any issues.
All working fine now...

Thanks for the update. That's good news. : )
Let me know if you need anything else.
