Upgrade Failure from 5.1.2 to 6.0`
I am starting with a fresh server, I was successful in creating a new 5.1.1 installation and restored my database from my original server. I then upgraded successully to 5.12 without a problem. I added the license for my 6.0 purchase and then I attempted the upgrade. I got through the screens till I arrived at the database connection, I typed it in and clicked next then an "application error" popup failed the installation and rolled back. Not sure if it is hanging on the database connection or something else. I went in and ran the .NET update to make sure the machine recognized it and I was successfull (which I seen on another post) but kind of stumped about why it is failling. I am using SQL Server Express 2008 R2 on a Hyper V windows 2008 r2 server.
Re: Upgrade Failure from 5.1.2 to 6.0`
Can you post a screenshot of the error?
Also, look in the vault_install.log found in %temp% for an error and post that.

Re: Upgrade Failure from 5.1.2 to 6.0`
You said you got a SQL connection screen, is that correct? Did you enter your URL for SQL Express as either machinename\sqlexpress or .\sqlexpress (if it's on the same machine)?
The error doesn't look normal for just being a bad instance name though. If trying a different instance name doesn't work, then could you send an email to support at sourcegear.com (attn: Beth) with a link to this forum thread?
