Vault says another user has file checked out, but its me

Vault shows a file checked out to me, but "Undo Checkout" is greyed out. If I try to check it out again, it reports that the file is checked out by a different user. This is a shared file. Not being able to checkout the file is blocking my merge branch operation.

How can I undo the checkout if it "undo checkout" is greyed out?

This probably means you have it checked out on another machine. You probably need to either undo it from that machine, or through the admin tool.
