Vault Client Session Timeout

Post by PACEGMBH » Wed Jul 18, 2012 4:42 am

Hi there,

we've been using Fortress 2.0.2.187753 until yesterday and moved now to Vault Professional 5.1.2.19283.
The whole migration process to a new W2K 2008R2 x64 server worked like a charm, but users are complaining about Vault client timeout issues.

Every once a while (they say it takes anything between one hour and four hours) they receive this error:
Session is no longer valid. Either the server restarted, or your session timed out. You may need to login again to re-authenticate.

In Vault Professional Administration, the session timeout is at 10080 minutes.

We haven't changes IIS' settings.

Please tell us what we can do to get rid of this timeout issue.

Brgds,
John

We'd like to see a copy of the Vault Server log to see if there are restarts or errors. Send the log zipped up to support at sourcegear.com, Attn: Linda. Please include a link to this forum post.

Hi Linda,

we've solved the issue. It hasn't been Vault Professional.
Because our Firewall Admin forgot to change one thing, Vault Pro had been treated like a machine outside of our network. So the connection termination came from our firewall not from Vault Pro.

Logfiles are always sooooo helpful.

Thanks for your hint.

John
