Undo checkout on web interface doesn't work

I'm having the familar problem of needing to undo the checkout of a colleague who is uncontactable and has accidentally left a file checked out. I tried to use the /vaultservice/Admin/UndoCheckOut.aspx page, but nothing happens when I click on the button. As so often on this web interface, problems are manifested as absolutely nothing happening. No page reload, no error message. I'm using Vault Standard 5.1.2.19281.

What web browser are you using?

Does this happen from any machine?

Have you tried restarting Vault Server? Use the "iisreset" command from a command prompt on the Vault Server machine.

I've tried it from Firefox and Chrome across two different client machines. I just tried the iisreset but once I'd logged in again nothing had changed.

This appears to be a problem caused by a recent Microsoft Windows update to .NET that restricts the number of checkboxes or links on a page. This can affect users whose Undo Checkout page has a hundreds of checkouts. A temporary workaround is to log in as that user with the Vault GUI Client and undo checkout.

We're looking into a solution that would modify the Vault web.config file.

If any other users have run into this, we'd like to know.

I'm also having this same problem -- I cannot Undo Checkout from any web browser. Do you have a solution for this issue yet?

This will be fixed in Vault 6.0 by changing the design of the Undo Checkout pages.
