Can admin log out a logged in user?

Post by alan.bowens » Wed Jan 18, 2012 5:30 am

Is it possible for admin to log out a logged in user? I ask because we are about to perform a server upgrade, and want to ensure that everybody is logged out first. Apologies if this is in the help files, I did have a look but couldn't find it.

Thanks

Alan

An easy way to force a log out of users is to recycle the VaultAppPool. That is found in the IIS Manager on the Vault server. In Windows 2003, you will right-click the VaultAppPool and select Recycle. In Windows 2008, you click on the VaultAppPool and then find the Recycle link in the right-side column.

Another way is to perform an IISReset by going to Start - Run and typing iisreset. That will recycle all of the Application Pools at once.

Whenever the recycle happens, users are disconnected.
