Branch files checked out

Post by MatthewEvans » Mon Aug 01, 2011 4:32 am

I am getting branch files being checked out to my change set periodically. No idea why?

I think I have accidentally configured some kind of diff analysis or something.

Are you using integration with Visual Studio? If so, it's possible you're bindings aren't pointing to the right location.

Do you have any sharing across branches?

Hi Beth

We are using VS integration.

I don't believe we do have any sharing across branches, how would I tell?

If you looked in Vault, shared items would have a double arrow on them.

What you want to do first is to try unbinding and rebinding.

1) Go to File - Source Control - Change Source Control or Vault Source Control - Change Vault Bindings depending on which client you are using.
2) Select all lines in the window that opens and click Unbind.
3) Click OK and Save All.
4) Go to File -Source Control - Change Source Control or File - Vault Source Control - Change Vault Bindings.
5) Select one line that is not the .sln file and click Bind.
6) When the binding window opens, select the folder that element resides in and click OK.
7) Check that the status for that line is Valid.
8_) Repeat on each line. Bind the line for the .sln file last. When all are Valid, click OK.
9) Check in the changes to the .sln and project files.
10) If other users are having binding issues, then they can now perform an Open From Vault or rebind like you did.
