SOS 4.2 on a new Macbook Pro running 10.6.8
Each time I start it from Applications SourceOffsite sos (which starts up terminal and X11 session to run client ok), it has to reload the entire tree, and has forgotten all the working directory settings, and external programs settings.
This makes it pretty much unusable as have to spend ages resetting it up each time.
Also having problems getting diff and merge program working anyway .. they just don't run.
Is there any information on how to get Mac set up so it works .. and why does it NOT work when installed anyway? .. i had no problems like this on Windows.

The SOS client keeps a cache of the VSS project tree, working folders, etc. It sounds like your cache isn't being saved. Check under /Users/<yourloginname>/.sos/servers/<sosservername> to see if there are any files there while you are using the SOS Client and later, when you close it.
Could there be a permissions problem with the SOS Client not being able to save data to that directory?

Thanks .. I'll have a look and get back to you
Don't know why there would be permission issues .. other than macs seems to have a lot of problems with permissions by default, whereas windows pcs seem to have no such problems unless one goes out of ones way to change them. All I did was download and install it .. its a new machine only just being set up with software.

Re: SOS 4.2 on Mac reloads tree forgets working dir and sett
there are files there (after running)
.sos folder
| prefs 4k
| sos.key 4k
| servers folder
| | database1.sos 4K
| | index.sos 4K
| | prefs 4K
| | <my.database.name folder>
| | | database1.sos 119Kb
| | | index.sos 4k
| | | prefs 4K
everythng seems to have read and write access for 'me' .. though some have 'no access' under the 'everyone' group .. surely that won't matter if 'me' has read and write.

Would you run the command ls -lR .sos?
We'd like to see the permissions plus the dates on the files.
