Hello,
I have just installed both the client and the server of vault standard.
I can login to the vault admin via the web browser on the server no problems but i can not get the client to talk.
I am trying to access the server remote which i understand is possible.
The installation of both server and client software worked perfectly without issue but i just can't get the two to talk. What am i doing wrong?.

It looks like you're using the network name of the server in your connection dialog. If you're connecting remotely, you will need to use the fully qualified domain name (myserver.mydomain.com) or the server's IP address.

Thanks for that it is working now.
Unless i am blind there is no where on your help anywhere or installation guides that state that is how you must connect to the server if you are talking direct over the internet.
If you please could make a note or put a section called troubleshooting on your help pages [on the website] that say what is required for each connection type ie as below
Local: server ip#
VPN: serverip#
Direct online: vaultserver.mydomainname.com
Its just i wasted 2 whole days trying to work out what i was doing wrong. I would recommend to users that they get a subdomain name setup specifically for the vault just to make it simple.
Also another point is how come posts have to be approved by a moderator before they show in the forums? Seems a bit illogical to me / us?

Sorry it took a while to resolve this simple issue. But you're right, if you don't know how to form the connection string, that can be a problem.
I've logged feature request 15985 for improvements to Vault documentation about login.
The reason we must approve all posts is because spamming has gotten much worse. We get 30-40 spam postings a day, and many of them are rather offensive.
