What were you doing when you got this error?

We'd like to see a copy of the Vault Server log.

It's called sgvault.log and is in %windir%\temp\sgvault on the server machine.

Send the log to support at sourcegear.com, Attn: Linda. Please include a link to this forum post.

The first time I got the error was when I was attempting a check--in of 7 files from Visual Studio 2010. Later the error also occured during check-in from the Vault Client or during deletion of files from the Vault Client.

Have sent the log-file.

Hi Linda,

Yes, this was - as you said - a "server cache inconsistency". iisreset on the server fixed the problem!

The most likely explanation is that this morning the database log had run full (due to missing backup and hence missing log truncation). We fixed the problem on the database, but did not issue an "iisreset" on the vault-server.

1.5 month ago the log also ran full, but at that time an iisreset was issued shortly after that the database problem was fixed. (And no errors occured)
