Merge Comments

When we merge the branch back in to the trunk it seems to talk all comments, from edited files (100's), and join them together as a single set comment.

Is there a way that it can apply/copy the item comments to each new items so when we commit the changes back to the trunk it has a better (readable) history against just each item rather than a giant set comment?

Please add my vote for this, too. It's a major pain to lose all the comments from a long-lived branch.

There isn't a way to do that without performing smaller merges that would have the comments you want in a particular area. If you would like, I can put in a feature request for this functionality.

Another thing you could do is not perform the commit all at once, but instead smaller sections at a time and edit the comments for what is applicable.

Sometimes unfortunately the branches can get have a lot of changes due to a large team. For now we will try to merge more often.

We still have this item logged, but it's not currently scheduled for Vault 6.0.0.
