Hi,
We just installed VS2010 RTM today, and noticed that the Vault Enhanced Client is not available in the Source Control Plug-ins in VS2010.
Will there be a maintenance release of Vault 4.1 to include this?
Kind regards,
Scott Ferguson

Re: VS2010 RTM and Vault 4.1.4
Full support for Visual Studio 2010 is available in Vault 5.0.x. We suggest upgrading to take advantage of the new functionality.
Vault 4.1.4 does not support Enhanced Client integration with Visual Studio 2010. Classic client integration might work, but we haven't tested it.
Since Visual Studio 2010 was released after Vault 4.1.4, the client installer does not create the registry keys the Visual Studio 2010 hive to enable the integration. There are more than 20 different registry keys that need to be created.

Re: VS2010 RTM and Vault 4.1.4
Hi there,
Thanks for your reply.
We appreciate that our dev team is one major release behind, but at this moment, we're not in a position to upgrade our team to v5 until around the end of this year.
However, using the enhanced client is crucial for our development process, and we were hoping to take advantage of VS2010 immediately. Would you be able to provide some instructions such that we could modify the registry and try it?
Kind regards,
Scott Ferguson

Re: VS2010 RTM and Vault 4.1.4
Our users often upgrade their development tools and operating systems to keep up with the new technologies, so we at SourceGear work hard to make sure the latest version of our product is compatible with the latest versions of Visual Studio, SQL Server, and Windows.
The development work for VS 2010 integration was done in Vault 5.0, and we currently don't have plans for VS 2010 support in Vault 4.1.4.
We do have a list of registry keys that are created or modified by the Vault 5.0 Client installer, but we're reluctant for our customers to try to manually add the 20+ complex keys to their registry. It could be very error prone -- we've never tried it here. Also, Visual Studio 2010 hasn't been tested with Vault 4.1.4, so users might encounter other issues.

Re: VS2010 RTM and Vault 4.1.4
I suggest you post this information about the compatibility of VS2010 and Vault 4.1.4 on the Visual Studio Enhanced Client FAQ (http://support.sourcegear.com/viewtopic.php?t=9672). I've been trying to get the Enhanced Client to work with Visual Studio 2010 for a few hours now; finding this information on the FAQ would have saved me considerable effort.
