Basic Authentication SourceGear Fortress Client

I am using SourceGear Fortress Client version 1.1.4. I am accessing my SourceGear server perfectly well, using SSL in an expected way. However, when configuring the IIS Server to use Basic Authentication, only the browser client works fine. The intelligent client reports a 401 HTTP error. Does the client not support Basic Authentication, or where can I configure it?

What version of IIS are you using?

Fortress requires Anonymous Access to be enabled to work properly. Users should not be required to log into the machine/website before logging into Fortress.
