SourceGear Vault 5.0.4 Admin Webpage Issue

Hello, we just purchased the SourceGear Vault, it is an awesome tool but we need help with the website (admin webpage). We assigned it an internal IP address of 192.168.100.15 and we are able to get to the site using the IP address but we want to be able to go to source.vault.com in our internal network to access it. How can we do this successfully? We would like detailed steps to make sure we are doing this correctly, thank you.

Special networking is outside the realm of normal Vault support. I can give some suggestions, but you may need additional assistance beyond our support.

If you have a DNS server, you need to make sure it is set to route the address source.vault.com to the IP address you listed and not kick if out of the network. Vault.com is a public address that is owned by another company, so if the request gets kicked out of your network, it won't find it's way back. You might also put an entry into your router to forward the address source.vault.com or even vault.com to the IP address.

If you have multiple websites on that server, then you might be able to use headers, but you would have your own domain name and them some leading name in front of it. I'm not sure how to make that work with source.vault.com.
