Service not starting

Our source code server crashed and we had to reload everything. I am
trying to get source offsite to work. I have 3.5.3 loaded on our server
which is running windows 2000, but the service won't start, it is giving
me error 214.... I have loaded microsoft virtual machine for java also.

Any Ideas.

Microsoft no long supports the Java Virtual Machine on their operating systems. The 214 . . . is a JVM error. If the JVM isn't working on this machine, the options are to install SOS on a different machine or upgrade to SOS 4.0, which is not written in Java.
