VS 2010 Beta 2
I just installed VS 2010 Beta 2. We're running Vault 5.0.
Do I need to uninstall and reinstall the Vault client in order to install the Enhanced client for VS 2010?

Re: VS 2010 Beta 2
The Vault client installer installs the registry keys needed for integration, so if VS 2010 doesn't give you the option for the Vault Enhanced Client plugin then yes, uninstall and reinstall the client.

Re: VS 2010 Beta 2
Thanks, that worked.
However, I'm now seeing another issue. For website projects (without a .csproj file), no lock icons or check icons are showing up in the VS solution explorer. I can't see the status of any files. (It seems to be fine for files that are inside a web application project (with a .csproj file).

If you right-click on a file, are there source control menus?

Re: VS 2010 Beta 2
Yes. I can check out, check in, get latest, etc. All those options display in the context menu.
Re: VS 2010 Beta 2
We were able to reproduce this and have logged bug 15021. This is primarily a display issue, since source control features are still available and functioning.
Thanks for the report.

Re: VS 2010 Beta 2
Can you tell me if bug 15021 has been resolved yet, and if not, when it will be? I just installed the 5.0.3 client (still running against 5.0.1 server), now with VS 2010 RC, and the issue still exists. It's extremely problematic not to be able to see files' source control status in Solution Explorer.
Re: VS 2010 Beta 2
This has been scheduled for Vault 5.0.4, our next maintenance release. We don't have a target date as yet.

Re: VS 2010 Beta 2
We now have a pre-release version of Vault 5.0.4 which includes a fix for this problem. If anyone is interested in trying this out in a trial basis, please send an email to "vaultbeta AT sourcegear DOT com"Lane wrote:For website projects (without a .csproj file), no lock icons or check icons are showing up in the VS solution explorer.
