File view sorting issue
Vault 5.0.2.8753
This may already be posted and if so please just add our vote to the request.
When sorting by something, say Check-ourts, and you have files checked out and you check one in the sort doesn't refresh. It's even stranger that if you don't click the refresh button and move to another folder the sorting gets completely out of whack with the files below no longer being secondarily Alpha sorted. I've attached a screenshot, the user had selected to sort by Check-outs in one folder, checked a file in, then clicked on another folder and got it sorted by Check-outs but all the other files are mixed rather than alphabetically sorted.
Thanks,
J

Re: File view sorting issue
I've not seen the first behavior, but the second is described here:

Re: File view sorting issue
Thanks Greg, I hadn't found that one.
I had come across this one which I've tried and what it says doesn't work, at least for me or my users. Since it seems to be from the 5.0 preview info I'm guessing it got dropped come release for some reason or another.

If we cannnot have selective secondary sort then at least have an automatic secondary sort of alphabetic, that would be a big help.
Thanks,
J

Re: File view sorting issue
I'll add your vote to the feature request on the sorting.
I can't reproduce the first item you mentioned either. Are the items that remain showing at the end of the list of check-outs or in the middle?

Re: File view sorting issue
Sorry I should have clarified that a bit more, basically the file checked in will move out of the Check Outs portion and into the non-checked out files and the non-checked out files will not resort. So basically the same as the other but less obvious when it happens I guess.
Thanks for adding our vote.

Re: File view sorting issue
Thanks. That makes more sense now. That seems to fall under the secondary sorting issue.

That's from the SourceOffSite forum, so a different product.

Re: File view sorting issue
Ah thx for pointing that out Greg, I had done a seach with the Vault section up only so figured it had come from there and didn't notice that.
Thanks,
