Good Morning,
Bit of a unusual issue has recently cropped up. A work colleage of mine was working from home and had several files checked out under his user logon. However his home computer died during the period of time he had the files checked out, and ergo they are still checked out under his name. He has since been in the office, and accessed the vault from the work computers using the same login details, but is unable to undo the checkouts due the files being checked out on another computer.
Is there any easy or practical way of completely removing that part of the vault respository he has checked out completely to be replaced by a live version of the files we have, or is it just going to have to be the case of me going into the vault admin panel(which is horendously slow, and seems to show more files being checked out under his name then there are actually present for the site in the first place) and manually undoing the checkout of the hundreds of files he has checked out under that particular website?

Re: Help needed permanately removing files that are checked out
It would be best to undo the checkouts with the Admin Client. If you have a large number of checkouts, could users temporarily undo their checkouts so that the only ones left are the ones that can't be undone from a Vault Client? That might make it easier to manager.
If they undo the checkouts and select "leave" as their file option, any modified files will be unaffected. They will appear as Renegade, as they are modified but not checked out. Then Renegade files can be checked out again with the Don't Overwrite/Merge later option.
Another possibility is that we could create a SQL script for you that would undo the specific user's checkouts. If you'd like to go this route, Email support at sourcegear.com, Attn: Linda. Please include a link to this forum post.
Let me know what version of Vault you're using.
