Hello,
I am trying to use the SOS COM Control API and I am having trouble making a connection to our SOS server.
I am using the SOS_Connection object and the Connect method which is documented as follows in the ComDocs directory
Function Connect ( Hostname As String,
Port As Long,
LoginName As String,
Password As String,
SSL As Long )
As Long
I have tried various permutations of parameters but without success.
Is there any sample code using this method?
Does the 'SSL as Long' parameter mean the SSL port or is it acting like a boolean?
If SSL is set to 1 does that mean the Port is then the SSL port?
I have tried these combinations but without success, can anybody help?
Thanks in advance
Guy

Re: SOS COM Control
Which version of SOS are you using? Are you by any chance using SOS Collab?
Our current SOS product that we sell doesn't have a COM Control.

Re: SOS COM Control
Hi Beth,
yes it is the collaborative edition we are using and it has a SOS_com.dll which is the Com interface to SOS
Is this supposed to work?
Any reason why the latest version doesn't support a COM object?

Re: SOS COM Control
SOS Collab and SOS are two different products that are far apart from each other by now. The last version of SOS Collab was released in 2003, and we have since stopped support on this product. Your upgrade path would be to Fortress. See this link for details: http://support.sourcegear.com/viewtopic ... 18&t=10745.
