hi.
i would like to upgrade from sql express 2005 to full sql server 2005. can i simply use the sql "upgrade wizard" to replace the sql (express) instance with the full server or do i need to do something like http://support.sourcegear.com/viewtopic ... ress#p3152 this?
(after going to "full" sql 2005, i actually want to upgrade to full sql 2008. anything special to do for that upgrade?)

Re: upgrading from sql express to full sql
We haven't done a lot of testing with this, but the first recommendation would be to always backup your databases before you change your version of SQL Server. If you're using SQL Server Express, that is always installed as an instance. You can install the full SQL Server 2005 and upgrade the instance.
If you want to use the default instance for the Vault databases, I'd uninstall Vault, upgrade to the full SQL Server 2005, restore the databases to the default instance, and reinstall Vault.

When upgrading from SQL Server 2005 to 2008, follow Microsoft's guidelines and of course, backup your Vault databases first.
