Excluding File Types arent Excluded

Post by coderanger » Sun Feb 21, 2010 4:32 am

Vault Version 5.03

I have ".scc" and other file types in the Excluded file list for my repository but these files still exist in the client and can be added. This seems wrong to me, I do not want anyone to add these files (some files would totally break some applications if they were added to source control), I dont want them to be seen nor added ... if file type exclusion is not the option, where is the option to exclude files?

Thanks.

When you set files/folder exclusions, they are not excluded from the Add Files/Folders dialog. However, these types of files and folders are not automatically checked when you choose to add the parent folder recursively. You can choose to manually check them and and they can be added to the repository.

I'll add a feature request to hide these excluded items when doing an Add.

Yes please, a great big VOTE please; as certain files should never be in sourcesafe and as admin I cannot stop them.
