Hello- wondering if vault will work with an MS SQL Azure connection.

Thanks,

We haven't tested with SQL Azure and don't support it. You could try it, but I don't know what the results would be. There was a discussion in the past on integrating with other SQL object management tools in this thread: http://support.sourcegear.com/viewtopic.php?p=38425. I have a few users who integrate with SQL Server Management Studio, because it uses MSSCCI, but it's still something we don't support.

After a little further reading, I see now it's not just a SQL management tool. Still, we haven't tested with SQL Azure, and, therefore, we don't support it. I can take a feature request though if you would like.

I would like to see this as a feature, but it would probably require changing your installation procedure to not require SA access (a good thing in my mind regardless), and also would be best with a single database to save costs instead of two (sgmaster, sgvault)

What is the status of this Feature Request?
Where can I see all the Feature Requests?
How can I vote on Feature Requests?

It's still listed as a feature request and I've added your vote to it. We don't have an entire open list of requests that the public can access, but you can feel free to post any thing you want in Vault or changed about it. I will then either add votes to feature requests that already exist based on your requests or will create new feature requests. Posting your requests to the forum or emailing them to support are both fine ways to make your requests known.

I see Fortress Version 6 is in Preview.
Will this have SQL Azure support?
If not, then we are going to have to switch to TFS.

Sorry, but Vault 6 does not have SQL Azure support. We haven't performed any internal tests on it here.

You can feel free to try it. If there's a way for you to get your Vault databases there and set permissions on them, then you could put in the connection path in the Vault web.config. We'd be interested to hear about your experience with it.
