Hi!
We run a Small Business Server 2003 with Sharepoint 2007 installed. I have followed the instructions on your site on how to allow Sharepoint and Vault exist on the same Server but installation is stopping with errors.
I create a new site in IIS 6.0
I choose custom installation in Vault and change the path from C:\inetpub\wwwroot to C:\vault
I specify NTAUTHORITY\NETWORK SERVICE as the login used by the IIS process model
I select the Vault website I created within IIS 6.0
The installation fails stating the following:
You chose to put Vault on website IIS://LocalHost/W3SVC/427104305/Root
Class not registered (Exception from HRESULT: 0X80040154
(REGDB_E_CLASSNOTREG))
Vault Setup is exiting due to a failure or cancellation Error Code:-1280

Re: Vault and Sharepoint Woes!
Is the website Vault is installing to set to either a different port number or different IP address? Give the website either a different port than Sharepoint or a different IP address.
During the Vault install, click Custom instead of Typical install. On the very next window, set the path to install Vault to be the same as what the website is pointing to, which appears to be C:\vault.
Between these two changes, you should be able to install.

Hi!
Thanks for your reply. I did a custom install and installed to C:\Vault. I also made sure the website was pointing to a different port than Sharepoint but still getting the same error.

I don't think this has been seen before. It looks like it's not being allowed to create the vaultservice virtual directory.
If you go into your IIS manager, go to the website you are installing Vault under, are you able to create a test virtual directory there manually?

Re: Vault and Sharepoint Woes!
Hi!
Sorry for the late reply but Ive been on my Christmas Hols! I have created a virtual directory within the website fine manually.....which has left me totally confused as to why Vault can't create one. Is there any way I can manually create the directories Vault needs or does it all have to be automated?
Thanks
Andy

Re: Vault and Sharepoint Woes!
When you created the website for Vault, did you set it's path to be C:\vault? Have the website path and the path that you enter when you install Vault match.
