Problem connecting to Vault server

Post by rda » Tue Nov 17, 2009 9:02 am

Hi, one of my team members is having this problem while trying to connect to our Vault server remotely:

Server was unable to process request. ---> Access to the path 'C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Microsoft\Crypto\RSA\MachineKeys' is denied.

He has Administrative privileges on his computer, and we checked to make sure that the path specified did exist, and did have the MachineKeys file (was not read-only, and he had security access to the file).

No one else has had this problem connecting to the same server, it only seems to occur on that one computer. What could be wrong?

Thanks!

Try giving Everyone full access to this directory and all the files in the directory. Let me know if this does not resolve the problem.

Are there any errors in the Vault Server log that correspond to the error? It's called sgvault.log and is in %windir%\temp\sgvault on the server machine.

Another suggestion -- did you give Everyone access to this directory -- C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Microsoft\Crypto\RSA\MachineKeys -- on the Vault Client machine or Vault Server machine? Try giving Everyone full control on both machines to see if login works.

We had only done it on the client machine - changing the access on the server machine fixed the problem, thanks much!
