Server does not start automaticly

Post by zhu » Fri Jul 23, 2004 7:53 am

I install SOS 3.5.3 on Win 2000 Professional. I have config SOS service to start automaticly, but it does not work when NO user login. If I login with a user, then start it ,it works ok. Why?

Sometimes if certain network dependencies are not available at the time the SOS Server is starting, the service won't start, even if it's configured to start automatically. For instance, if the VSS database is on another machine, but the network paths to the database are not yet established, the SOS Server may not start.

It's possible it's not the client login that's making a difference, but the fact that you waited to start the service.

There's a fix for this in SOS 4.0.2. In the Server Manager Optional Tab, you can configure a time delay before the SOS Server starts.

Thanks lbauer.
The SOS is installed in Drive C, and the databases are on Drive D(Both C and D are on the same hard disk). The SOS cannot start automatically, I don't know why.
